Portrait of Yassine Aqejjaj

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Yassine. I lead AI at scale, and I build it myself.

I'm Yassine Aqejjaj, an AI leader with 13 years of experience building AI products, shaping enterprise AI operating models and leading cross-functional delivery across defence, public services, retail and financial services. I joined Devoteam in 2023 as Principal Product Manager, became Lead of AI in 2024 and have headed the AI Factory since 2026, where internal platform development, client delivery and workforce enablement come together.

I started in digital banking in Casablanca, then moved to Paris to work on AI products at Carrefour, Fujitsu and AXA. Along the way I trained in machine learning at Stanford and in AI product management at Duke. Today I lead the NOVA Suite, our agentic platform deployed to 800 employees, and I've trained 1,500+ professionals in generative AI, agentic AI and RAG.

I also build on my own: TrustRail, MedGuard AI, M3aya Santé and the TRAIL Academy learning platform I founded. I share what I learn in four books and on stage, including Google Cloud Summit and AICamp. I focus on agentic AI, responsible deployment and measurable business adoption.

ABOUT ME

My story, in my words

WHAT DREW ME TO AI

What has always driven me is the urge to understand how things work, and to see how far I can go by learning on my own.

At first, AI was curiosity: understanding how a machine can learn, recognise images and make decisions. Little by little it became much more than a professional subject: a passion, sometimes almost an obsession. I could spend whole evenings testing an idea, hunting for why something did not work, just to feel the satisfaction of it finally working.

What I love about AI is that it brings me back to something very simple: the joy of learning, creating and surprising myself.

A DEFINING MOMENT

It is not an award, a conference or a big client project. It is a much simpler moment.

Only a few months ago, I was asking a colleague to explain how to deploy an application. I had worked in AI for years and led teams and complex projects, yet I could not put a product I had imagined online by myself. I have never had a problem admitting what I cannot do.

So I learned. I made mistakes, started over, spent nights on technical problems that look obvious to me today. One day I realised I no longer needed to ask someone to build my idea. In about twenty days, I had built several working AI products.

It was not the number of products that struck me, but the feeling of freedom: an idea in the morning, a test by the evening.

WHAT DRIVES ME TODAY

If I, who am not a developer by training, could learn this fast, how many people around us still do not know what they are capable of creating?

That is what motivates me most: giving others the same urge to try.

“I’m not trying to find out how far AI can go. I’m trying to discover how far it can take us.”
